What does ca 6 months of passive yet intentional job search data look like?
No “Easy Apply” to be found here.
Let’s look at the numbers:
👍 64 total multi-touch engagements
🙊 23 ghosted at some point
🚪 17 had no relevant opening
❌ 15 were outright rejections
🥳 1 still “active” process
(Hey 🇳🇴 do we need to talk about ghosting? The #ignore is not nice.)
To be fair, this does not count the jobs or offers turned down for not being the right fit. A little rejection once a week may not sound like much, but it’s a lot of time spent poorly if it’s approached piecemeal, each a one-off.
In my case, the high overhead of light-touch continuous interviewing meant I never needed to invest in my systems, as the relative burden didn’t demand it. Still a lot of hours.
Impactful go-to-market motions require inbound and outbound elements working effectively together towards specific AND changing targets.
With a content platform (Notion), tools directory (Opinionated), and traffic analytics and traffic (Koala) data, it’s possible to build a bridge between LinkedIn content and my planned outbound campaigns. Visits to the directory and subsequent intent signals are nice to haves that can define next actions appropriate to the particular opportunity.
Despite time and budget constraints, I hope to soon be able to send just as many stellar applications in a single day!

My goal is to find an epic ops role at a Seed or Series A startup that is at once both kind and ambitious. If that resonates, get to know me 🏔️
