I built a tools directory <1 day to aid in my job search and help startups find and use better software.
Here’s why and how I did it. Check it out — https://opinionated.tech
In anticipation of this public job hunt, I decided to build a directory page featuring the tools that high-performing startups are using to build leverage and scale faster than ever before. It includes both tools I’ve loved and that startups and operators are raving about.
My goal is that it serves as a genuine, living resource that company builders can to turn to between idea and Series A+ and find something of value. My experience also shows me that I need better reference points for dialogues around software to aid in my job search.
Anyways, to achieve this in one day, I used the following tools:
- Notion as my CMS, for all website and directory content
- Super to let me design and publish my Notion directory as a website
…yes it’s all basic design, but it doesn’t fuss about things that aren’t important
- Dub.co for link shorteners (and I’ve hit my monthly limit so no LinkedIn link attribution for now)
- Koala for visitor enrichment and intent signal monitoring
- GA-4 for basic volume, region, time series tracking analytics
…and Wordware, with which I created an automated AI workflow that generates well researched product content with custom formatting instructions. This flow is also included in the Wordware directory on the same website: https://opinionated.tech/wordware-flows
I kept it simple and in the end spent less than a day of work on what is now an asset to myself and others!
