Hey Founders! How do you define your ICP? Your Ideal Company Profile β in a job search?π‘
Most applicants will follow the following process:
- Consider what role(s) they want, are qualified for
- Look online for said role(s) and apply broadly
- Convince every company they meet theyβre a fit
My personal approach is decidedly different:
- Define my ideal geography, and the VC funds operating there
- Define my ideal company size or stage, and industries
- Distinguish between buyer signals (open role, no role, etc)
- Look for companies that are especially kind and ambitious
My tool du jour is of course Clay, that allows me to do all of this in high-resolution, scraping portfolios from VC funds I admire, and narrowing in.
Itβs remarkably similar to how startups should run go-to-market motions.
Founders β Iβd love to work on this and more with you β hit me up πββοΈ
Just tuning in? π
