In elementary school we had a computer class where played a game called Type to Learn. The game was a head to head with friends to see who could type as quickly and accurately as possible. I was voraciously competitive at that age, but even today I occasionally find myself in a wpm challenge with somebody.
At the same time I began playing RTS games (Age of Empires, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, etc.) — and I was competitive because I could use macro keys, basically pre-programmed shortcuts to decisions in the game, no mouse.
Flash forward to today.
